Moving to Canada in the forthcoming years, seems to be even more attractive than before - Canada Visa Expert

Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship announced that Canada has welcomed more than 401,000 permanent residents in 2021 and achieved the target of 2021-2023 Immigration Levels Plan. Interesting to note, due to pandemic restrictions, Canada only landed 184,500 immigrants in 2020.

The IRCC is back on track with half a million applications processed in 2021. Sean Fraser stated that in February, there will be updated Immigration Levels Plan, with even higher goals than in 2021. This gives hope to those affected with pandemic processing delays, that Canada visa processing times should be back to usual.

Immigration addresses labour shortages in key sectors such as health care. Immigrants make up 37% of pharmacists, 36% of physicians, 39% of dentists, 23% of registered nurses, and 35% of nurse aides and related occupations.

In 2021, new programs were launched to attract essential workers, health care professionals, international graduates and French-speaking newcomers. In these unprecedented times, family reunification is still one of the biggest programs allowing individuals to reunite with their loved ones in these unprecedented times.

“Last year, we set an ambitious goal. Today, we achieved it. This is a historic moment for our country, as we welcome the highest number of newcomers in one year in our history. I want to thank all the employees in my department, especially our Operations Sector, who made this possible. Canada is built on immigration, and we will continue to welcome the immigrants that Canada needs to succeed. I can’t wait to see the incredible contributions that our 401,000 new neighbours make in communities across the country.” – Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship

The promising news is, Canada plans to welcome even more newcomers - 411,000 immigrants in 2022 and 421, 000 in 2023.
