I heard from someone that a few people who got approved in April got their ceremony done well in advance on spouse grounds. After getting to know of this I lost hope and stopped awaiting for invitation

U will definitely get through.. i am beginning May so just hanging on hope.. its so frustrating..no clarity on how to plan anything.. they don't care about us

Also, the FAQ on Wyndham Council website clearly states "When you have been scheduled to attend a ceremony, you will receive an invitation from the Department of Home Affairs (Department) approximately 3 – 4 weeks before the date of your ceremony. Please do not contact Council regarding ceremony dates, as Council are not responsible for ceremony allocations"

Hi kuwind. I mailed multiple times in may and june. Once they replied and later stopped. As they were not replying to me, my husband started mailing them from mid of june. They haven’t replied to him even once. As the ceremonies are on 17th and 18th if we are in the list we might get an update by 20th I hope. If not in list then the waiting might extend to nov. good luck mate

Hi.. any update from thw council.. they have stopped replying to my mails. Have u tried mailing them.. Stonington council in Victoria has recieved invitation for 20 sept ceremony n no update for wyndham. Is it possible u mail n ask them for any update. Thanks

@Yedsam, no updates as of now. Seems like, we all pending ones would get an invite for Sep 17th or 18th. And the invite email would be sent out somewhere in the mid August.  The AU Passport applications are also taking anywhere between 7-9 weeks at the moment unless one opts for priority processing and pays them extra money. And then the renunciation of the IND Passport is also taking 6-8 weeks or even more in some cases. This is so frustrating. They don't have staff in the government departments. And we can't apply for those APS jobs as we aren't citizens yet.
