o order GCMS notes you must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada or a person physically residing in Canada. Therefore it is quite obvious, that an individual who applied for permanent residence in Canada from abroad (for example via Federal Skilled Worker program, Provincial Nominee Program, Express Entry and so on) will face certain difficulties ordering GCMS notes from his or her file.
Fortunately, Canadian law provides for a solution: an applicant may order GCMS notes through an intermediary – an individual meeting one of the above requirements. Since privacy is of utmost concern, one cannot just request and receive a GCMS file for any other person. To be able to do so a person must be authorized by the applicant to request GCMS notes on his or her behalf. For this purpose a consent form must be signed by an applicant. The requester named in the consent form may then file a request to receive the applicant’s GCMS notes.
GCMS notes are a complete overview of most recent information about your Canadian immigration/visa file requested and legally received directly from the IRCC.
