We are often asked when exactly GCMS notes are generated after the request is submitted to CIC. 
 
Given that it takes several weeks to receive GCMS notes, the actual report can be generated at any time during this period, and applicants often try to request GCMS notes to view very recent case updates, such as post-interview notes, acknowledgement of receiving documents sent to a visa office etc. 
 
From our experience GCMS notes can be retrieved from the database at any time from the date of request to the date GCMS notes are released to the client. As such, there is no guarantee as to the specific day GCMS notes are generated. Sometimes GCMS notes are retrieved from the system within just a few days from the date of request; sometimes, however, GCMS notes are generated just before they are sent to the client, and small percentage of all GCMS orders is delayed by CIC for up to several extra weeks.
