Impossible to say for sure as it never reached the hearing stage. But it is likely. Median Mandamus duration is around 2-3 months: that's when IRCC typically yields a decision. This Mandamus lasted 80 days, which fits well into this timeframe. Also, as soon as Mandamus perfection was filed on PR, bridging WPs were approved almost immediately (were pending for 7 months with zero updates by then). Clearly it forced them to at least look at the case.

Did mandamus help? Or was it naturally approved?

No changes. Started Mandamus about a month ago.

Any updates?

Nah, I don't think it's about a batch. Probably it's about whether the application was flagged for enhanced security or not, because that's what usually causes major delays. If it was flagged, it's gonna go to CSIS and get stuck there for life. And there's no way to expedite this except writ of mandamus. Those other applications probably were just lucky to not trigger exta security checks. What triggers them? Could be anything: could be smth in the work history, could be "wrong" birth place, could be travel history, could be just random check because "computer said so"

Yep, same for us. It seems like our batch in particular was delayed for some reason, because Russian citizens are getting assessed quite fast right now (December AORs are getting PPR).

Yep, but not much to see there. CSIS is reviewing it, meaning it could last forever

I see you got stuck on the Security as well? Have you ordered any notes already?
