Mine is stuck at "Application in progress and we are yet to start background check" almost reaching 180 days this week

Not mine atleast. 185 days almost and still showing IP1. Though I have been informed that several times the PPR is issued without the profile actually showing IP2. Hoping the same happens and they issue the PPR.
Testing times I must admit. The wait has been just too long now. Sighhhhh*

It really doesn't matter which Visa Office our Application is. Just seeing several live examples of my other friends who applied 20-30 days after mine got their PPRs in the last 2 days. CIC seems to have several sets/ groups of Applications which get shelved without any reason. One has to poke them to wake up and resume processing the same. So many applicants who are now in their 190+ days have just no clue what is happening. No update, no clarity and no clue to alternate recourse to be taken. Pathetic, maybe this is the system of a developed country.

Really the darkest time of the life. Even I have resigned from the job as my superior started harassing me the moment they knew about my immigration process. Waiting for the reply of the webform.

5-10 days. Sometimes even next day. Have heard many cases where profile doesnt reflect IP2 and straight PPR is issued.

This is by far the most frustrating 6 months of my life. Just no clarity at all. No transparency either. All major life decisions, both professional and personal kept on hold for this. Another live example I have is one of my couple friends who submitted their application 21 days after mine, their profile too has just reached IP2 stage, as their Background Check status has changed in their profile to indicate that their IP2 stage has begun. Someone needs to wake these CIC people up from their sleep.
