Case 107611

Wyndham city council conducted 3 ceremonies today granting 480 people citizenship by conferral. 9am / 12noon / 3pm. For each ceremony, people had to get there an hour before. The process was extremely smooth. Few mins to intake, then take a family pic with the Mayor, stand in the queue to receive the pic with Mayor (for free) and then proceed to the events center room for the pledging ceremony. The whole process completed in 90 mins. Based on some other channels it seems there were around 2707 people awaiting ceremony in Wyndham Council of which 480 received today. The council gave a temporary certificate and the actual certificate will follow in mail. Timeline unknown. Some channels say, it could take as much as a month to receive the actual certificate. Hope this information is helpful.

Note: I received an early ceremony because my case office had put my ceremony with my wife's who got her approval in Feb. So, I got lucky because of my wife. Cannot say that in front of her. :)

@imercoz thanks for the update on wyndham council ceremony update

I got the appointment letter late last night (31-Mar-2022). I got an interview test/appointment for today (1-Apr-2022). There were plenty of slots open for today. There was hardly anyone at the centre and the process took less than 30 mins. I also received my approval email within few hours of completion.

The officer who conducted my interview was a very kind lady. She did her due diligence, but did not request to see any documents as all the uploaded documents were clear and unambiguous.

For members of Wyndham City Council, quoting my interview officer, the wait for ceremony would be as long as six months considering that Wyndham City Council has the most number of cases and due to extended lockdowns in the previous year there is a considerable backlog. The DHA might try to help the councils with high backlogs, but it would still be a long wait."

Hope that is helpful.
