@strengthbst2, give or take, I heard it from one of main Mandamus lawyers on a Youtube podcast. I think, It's a great news that your status has been "In progress by CBSA" albeit for 14+ months. As I mentioned, I have definitely seen a couple of cases on reddit and canadavisa forum where CBSA took 12+ months to finalize the CSS once the status changed from "Received by CBSA" to "In progress by CBSA". I hope that your case is close to the finish line!

Interestingly, that according to immigration lawyers, your CBSA notes status "Current status: In Progress by CBSA" implies that CSIS finished their part of screening and handed their results back to CBSA (otherwise, the status would be "Received by CBSA" when CSIS is doing their part of the screening). As a result, I would interpret "last updated 2024/04/12" implying that your case has been undergoing final CBSA assessment for more than 2 years at this point. Brutal :( I definitely saw a case or two when CBSA was taking more than a year to finish the screening after CSIS handed them their result. I heard a lawyers opinion that CSIS might be working faster than CBSA in doing their part of the screening. In my case, CSS started in July of 2025 and GCMS notes show "Received by CBSA" as of May 2026, so my case is still with CSIS even after 10 months in CSS.

@strengthbst2 The validity of my medical exam was automatically extended by one year back in 2024 and it expired in the spring of 2025. I did nothing on my part. No updates from the IRCC.

I'm guessing that your medical exam validity has expired. What did you do? Did they ask you to re-take an exam?

Nope, nothing. 
 
To be honest with you, I hardly care anymore. With the current economy in Canada, rising debilitating taxes, an ever-rising cost of living, and housing prices leaving little hope for any wannabe homeowner, mandamus feels like a waste of money. 
 
Since I've sunk years into this, I'd still like to see where it ends, no matter how much more ridiculous it gets. 
 
But I sincerely hope your case gets resolved quickly. This system is broken and unfair to a large number of able and fine people.

Hey @Evgeny85, there were no changes except for a system-wide ghost update on Oct. 4th that affected many profiles, including mine.
