Comprehensive Security Screening has started for both applicants (me and my wifey).
Security screening referred to CBSA: 2026-07-08
Screening Type (A34): Comprehensive, Priority: Normal
All other checks (criminality, medical, biometrics) — Passed for both applicants
Eligibility — Passed; ITA/e-APR criteria confirmed by officer back in February
Our cases look almost like twins: French-language draw, NOCs right next to each other, and we both got the same ADR. Good to have someone in the same boat to compare notes with.
A quick heads-up on my side: before AOR, my immigration consultant flagged that I have strong ties to Russia's tech sector and to some of the more sensitive parts of the economy: oil & gas, plus state-backed deep-tech venture. His estimate was about a 90% chance my file gets routed to comprehensive security screening.
I ordered my CBSA notes today - waiting to see "sent to security screening" show up in them. Once my file passes the 6-month mark, I'm going to start sending monthly demand letters through the webform, basically building a paper trail for a possible Mandamus application next year if things stall.
