@Chartered: Yes, agree with you. Good to see active people on this portal and helping each other or at-least spreading positive vibes. Good luck to everyone. Need to engage ourselves in something meaningful as things are certainly unpredictable :)

@ Parth & Aastha, at least good to know through this forum that we are not alone in this journey; we all are in same boat; rather say same plane because Australian's hate people who arrive there through boat :)

@ Aastha, I will cross 150 days mark on August 3. No clue mate why there is no sign of progress yet. As Parth mentioned, you may get direct grant.

@ Parth thank you for your thorough feedback on both the queries. In my case, I have not submitted any document pertaining to my spouse's functional English except her BA mark sheets and degree certificate. I am hoping to hear from them asking for VAC2 (second installment) in lieu of spouse's language test.

@Shalu thank you for your detailed reply. very informative specially for people like us who are self propelled. Again thank you for your best wishes.

Hi, status of application do not change until you received direct grant or CO contact. once you received CO contact you application status would become "Initial Assessment" and once you submit documents for CO assessment it changes to "Further Assessment" as it happened in my case. and for no status update on your application, i would say be patient as now a days dept is taking a lot of time to process applications as very recent Australian Elections came in between which delayed all govt. work by 2 months.I think you should expect DG (hopefully) by end of this month or surely in next month.

Thanks a lot. Patience is the key. I am already having sleepless nights sometimes but can’t help it. Once it crosses 6-7 months mark then I might think of calling up to DHA about case progress!

Thankyou so much for the information and your kind words..
I wish that all 3 of us may receive DG fast.

@Astha, as I have added this case to my watch list, got a notification. I would like to tell you that DHA is unpredictable and each caae is different for them. However, as per website the processing time for 189 applications is 6 to 7 months. Meaning we can expect the outcome within that period (some exceptional cases can take more time)

Now, coming to your case and CPEng, I think my gut feeling says you guys should get direct grant within 2-3 months. Because, usually within 3-4 months one get to hear from CO if they have any questions or missing documents. Or even sometimes immi commencement email also which is also very rarely being triggered. Application will always show received state even though they are working on it

Having said that, there must be something behind the scenes about priority of application or luck factor. But nobody can be 100% sure note even immi consultants.

Good luck and wait for a direct grant πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜
Even I have crossed 160 days mark. No CO contact no grant no employment verification. Only Immi commencement email πŸ˜•πŸ˜”
